Director of Development

Adora Namigadde Mbanefo is the development director for Girl Talk. That means she cultivates relationships with the people who help make the organization's mission possible.

She met Julie through a year-long writers' critique circle at the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture in Chicago. Julie's passionate writings about Girl Talk helped Adora learn more about the mission. Julie invited her to participate in the Girl Talk Institute by mentoring a young woman, and she deeply enjoyed the experience. She and her mentee remain friends to this day!

Adora loves meeting new people and understanding human psychology, so she's enjoying the shift to development. She has a background in journalism, producing national stories about the ways people engage religion and belief at-large. She loves hosting, The Great Outdoors and whisking matcha at home.

Why I Girl Talk: I love women and girls! We face forces everyday claiming that we are inadequate, and that we can become adequate for a short amount of time by buying (insert product here). It's a lie. We were all made to live deeply fulfilling lives, and Girl Talk practically helps women and girls do just that!
